Burger Bowls

All the flavors of a juicy burger without the bun

  • 1 pound ground beef or already made/frozen burger patties
  • 1 package hearts of romaine, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Burger toppings of choice: pickles, tomatoes, red onion, shredded cheese, bacon, avocado, etc.

  • Divide ground beef into 4 equal parts and form into patties, pressing your thumb into the center of each patty (skip this step if you're using already made patties)
  • Season patties with salt and pepper and place in a hot skillet over medium-high heat, flipping once after 5 minutes for a total cook time of about 8-9 minutes (you can also grill your burgers if you prefer)
  • While the burgers cook, add the Dijon mustard and salt to a small bowl. Slowly drizzle the olive oil into the mustard, whisking continuously to emulsify and thoroughly combine
  • Assemble your bowls, starting with a bed of chopped romaine, adding your toppings of choice, your burger patty, and finally a drizzle of the Dijon dressing
